Your perfect day
How can you have the perfect day, in terms of personal development? Admit it, this is the bit where you expect me to slip you the answer, take all that hard work away and lead you instantly to the results you want. I’m afraid it doesn’t work like that, but I can give you some helpful advice.
For me, the perfect day is when you complete all your daily practices. The things that are going to move you closer to your goals. To where you want to be.
If you want to improve your mental health and wellbeing, meditating for 10 minutes a day can make a big difference. If you want to get fit, going to the gym 2 or 3 days a week wouldn’t hurt. Imagine you want to learn how to play the guitar. What sort of progress would you expect to see if you dedicated 20 minutes to it every day?
It all adds up. These daily practices are the things that move us forward.
You need to remember this when you want to make changes. When you’ve worked out what you want to do, you then consider the steps you’ll have to take to make it happen. Focussing on the things you can do every day helps. It’s also a lot easier to get going. You just have to start.
You just have to focus on getting those things done each day and let time do the rest. It will get easier as well. After around 21 days, a habit should start to form and you should experience less resistance. Focus on that.
When you want to make changes. When you want to have a perfect day in terms of personal development, remember these three easy things:
Work out what practices will make a difference
Do them every day
Keep going for 21 days
Come back to this post if you start to struggle.
